A Riva to human scale. Launched in the late 1960s, the Junior is the smallest series-produced Riva. Designed to bring Riva elegance to a wider audience, it retains all the brand’s visual DNA – varnished mahogany, chrome, pure lines – in a compact format of around 5.75 metres. It is the Riva you can own without major infrastructure: trailerable, easy to handle, easy to moor.
Original architecture. Mahogany hull, light inboard motor of around 60 to 90 horsepower depending on version, moderate top speed tailored to coastal cruising and lake outings. Simple mechanics, pleasant in their intended context.
The Lanéva conversion. The Junior’s compact format makes it especially well-suited to electric retrofit: low original displacement, therefore modest power to substitute, therefore reasonable battery pack and contained conversion cost. Electric motor of 40 to 60 kW (comfortably matching, often exceeding, the original thermal output thanks to torque), battery pack of 25 to 40 kWh. Charges from a domestic socket in a few hours. Original character preserved or improved.
On board, you will experience… the Riva, set free. The Junior is exactly the boat where retrofit makes the most sense: regular use, frequent operation in regulated zones (alpine lakes, inland waters, marine parks), and a wish for controlled running costs. Electric turns this small Riva into the everyday boat
