Riva Rudy – Accessible elegance

The fibreglass turning point. The Rudy marks a shift in Riva’s history: launched in 1969, it is one of the first Riva models built in fibreglass rather than mahogany. 5.87 metres long, 2.16 metres beam, more modern lines, a more rational approach to production. It is a 1970s Riva, anticipating modern boating while keeping the brand’s elegance.

Original architecture. Fibreglass hull, thermal motor of around 210 horsepower, top speed close to 35 knots. More versatile and more forgiving than a wooden Riva, the Rudy lends itself particularly well to intensive use.

The Lanéva conversion. The Rudy’s fibreglass hull eases mechanical integration and gives more flexibility for battery placement. Electric motor of 100 to 140 kW, battery pack of 50 to 80 kWh depending on usage, original speed and character preserved. The Rudy is particularly well-suited to a light hybrid configuration for owners who want extended range beyond pure electric.

On board, you will experience… an unfussy Riva, built for daily use. Less museum than an Ariston, the Rudy is taken like a car: you grab it, you charge, you sail, you return. It’s the Riva you use, not the one you contemplate.
