Accelerating the energy transition of the French inland waterway fleet
Lanéva has been selected by Entreprises Fluviales de France (E2F) as an Assistant to Project Management (AMO) within the GATE – Energy Transition Support Group program.
This national initiative aims to support the electrification and decarbonisation of France’s inland waterway fleet.
Through this selection, Lanéva will accompany:
- Passenger vessels,
- Cargo barges and automoteurs,
- and Service boats (maintenance, logistics, and technical operations).

GATE: accelerating the energy transition of inland navigation The GATE (Groupe d’Appui à la Transition Énergétique) initiative, created by Entreprises Fluviales de France (E2F) and supported by the Paris Port Community (CPP), aims to guide and support inland waterway operators in the greening of their fleets.
The program connects operators with qualified AMOs – such as Lanéva – who can assist them at every stage of their retrofit project, from technical assessment to design, regulatory compliance and implementation.
Its goal: accelerate the decarbonisation of inland navigation while maintaining competitiveness for operators.
Retrofitting: keep your vessel, cut your costs Retrofitting means converting an existing thermal-powered boat into an electric vessel, by replacing the propulsion and energy systems while preserving the original structure. It is an efficient, sustainable and cost-effective solution for passenger vessels, workboats and cargo barges whose fuel and maintenance costs weigh heavily on profitability.

Lanéva, official AMO for electric conversion of professional vessels
With over six years of experience in electric propulsion and sustainable naval engineering, Lanéva has been selected by E2F to assist passenger vessels (less and over 12 pax), automoteurs, and service boats in their transition to electric or hybrid propulsion.
As an Assistant to Project Management (AMO), Lanéva provides comprehensive technical, regulatory, and economic support, from feasibility studies to project delivery.

- Regulatory documentation for control and certification authorities (ES-TRIN / Division 222)

A nationwide initiative
Thanks to the GATE program, all operators, shipowners and service providers across France can now benefit from significant financial support to conduct their electrification studies. Lanéva works throughout the national territory, in collaboration with local authorities and agencies (VNF, CPP, CNR, DDTM, etc.), ensuring smooth coordination and regulatory compliance.
