An intimate icon. Launched in the 1950s by the Riva yard in Sarnico, the Florida is the most accessible expression of the Carlo Riva style: a 5.50-metre runabout in varnished mahogany, dressed with chrome, built for lake and bay outings. More compact than its bigger siblings Aquarama and Super Aquarama, it offers the same visual magic in an intimate format. Up to six guests in a cockpit that smells of wax and leather.
Original architecture. Solid mahogany hull, typically powered by a Chris-Craft engine of around 130 horsepower, top speed close to 30 knots. Reliable 1960s mechanics, but increasingly costly to service, sensitive to modern fuels, and – most importantly – restricted or banned in a growing list of protected waters.
The Lanéva conversion. Our retrofit kit installs without altering the boat’s silhouette: original controls left in place, period dashboard preserved, only a discreet badge at the stern. Beneath the engine cover, a certified industrial-grade electric motor, a Li-Ion battery pack sized to your usage (indicatively for this hull class: 80 to 120 kW of power, 40 to 60 kWh of battery), and 400 V power electronics with shielded cables. Performance is preserved – around 30 knots – and can be voluntarily capped to protect a vintage hull.
On board, you will experience… a Riva freed from its servitudes. No more Chris-Craft to coddle, no more constant rumble, no more odours in the cockpit. The wood, the chrome, the intact silhouette – and the silence of an electric motor. The rediscovered pleasure of a classic you can use every day.
