More than a thousand units of history. Launched in 1950, the Ariston is probably the most emblematic Riva runabout. Produced in over 1,000 units through the 1970s, it set the codes of the Italian dayboat: 6.50 metres of varnished mahogany, pure lines, chrome, a two-row cockpit. It is the most direct expression of artisanal excellence from the Sarnico yard, and the boat that elevated Riva to cult status.
Original architecture. Mahogany hull, V8 Chrysler of 177 horsepower in the most common configuration, historical top speed of around 36 knots.
The Lanéva conversion. The Ariston was the very first model for which we developed an industrialised, certified retrofit kit – now proven across multiple units. On the reference Ariston (hull 355, sailing under the Monégasque flag), the original Chrysler V8 was replaced by a 140 kW electric motor (equivalent to 190 thermal hp) on a single shaft line, fed by a 63 kWh battery pack at 400 V with shielded cables. All components are sourced from certified automotive industry standards. Top speed reaches 30 knots, voluntarily capped at 8,800 rpm out of the 16,000 available, to preserve a hull over sixty years old – the peak of 36 knots (the boat’s original thermal top speed) remains technically reachable.
Above all: nothing externally distinguishes our Ariston from her thermal sisters, beyond a discreet “100% Electric” inscription at the stern. Original controls, dashboard, upholstery – all preserved.
